ckck:

Adam Simpson made some lovely illustrations for the BAFTA Film Awards depicting this year’s five Best Film nominees. This one for The King’s Speech is my personal favourite, but they’re all really terrific. See them all here, and read more about it on the BAFTA website.

Wacom Graphics Tablet tests

Here you go folks. Just some tests to get a feel of digital drawing. The Batman and Joker ones use photo reference for poses and angles, while the Wolverine sketch is from scratch.

So I found this on my doorstep. Wacom: Bamboo Fun - Pen & Touch. Cost about £130 and I went for the medium size which set me back twice the amount I was going to spend on a graphics tablet. I can’t wait to start using it.

I really need more room. When all my crap isn’t on my desk, it has to be moved onto my bed.

Decided to make up a new drawing to color when I get my graphics tablet. I’ve done the pencils on a seperate sheet so I can try inking with a pen and inking on photoshop to see which I prefer. Then my favourite will be coloured digitally.

Steve McNiven is one of my favourite comic artists. I first came about his work when reading the Marvel Civil War series that ran for about a year from 2006 to 2007.

I think he finds the perfect line between realism and fantasy, making his illustrations believable while taking care not to dampen the unbelievable nature of his work.
